Dream Big

Dream Big

The dream big project was inspired by the campers of Camp HASC, a camp for individuals with special needs ranging from ages 5 to 75. After spending 6 summers with them everyday as a videographer, I got to know their dreams, and how they continued to pursue them despite the countless challenges they face everyday. It made me realize the magic that kids have to never stop dreaming even though it may not be realistic. After leaving camp one summer, I decided to bring the concept to life and feature kids who have BIG dreams and are going after them with unwavering enthusiasm. I had the privilege of meeting and spending the day with three incredible kids. A pair of twins who have a dream of going to space, and another who wants to fly fighter jets like his grandfather did during World War Two. Below are their stories.

The goal:

Inspire kids and adults around the world to look up
and be inspired by kids and never be afraid to dream big.

Dream: Become astronauts.

This is the depiction of what dreaming looks like. The twins stand on top of a pile of hay on their own local 50+ acre family farm in central Florida. They dream of walking on the moon one day.

Dream: Fly fighter jets.

RJ, (6), sits in the fighter helicopter of his grandfather, wearing his uniform from when he fought in World War 2. He dreams of joining the military and flying fighter jets. Below is his story.

Eli took photos of our kids and his patience with them was wonderful. They were comfortable and having fun during the shoot, which is hard when dealing with 4 year olds. Eli really captured some special moments and we will forever treasure the photographs. He is able to capture moments that aren’t scripted and really tell a story. He has a true eye for all the details that that turn a simple photo into a work of art.
